Evelyn Abad
Evelyn is another one of the premier up and coming female skateboarders in the US. She's been killing it all summer and she's got some amazing signature tricks in her bag. Evelyn took some of her precious time out to share a few words with Sk8sister. Check it!

1. Name, Nicknames: Evelyn Abad AKA: "Evil-E" (my team manager for Zola gave me that nickname and I think it's cool, it goes well with my helmet haha. Thanks for that nickname Buddah)
2. Hometown/Age: Fremont, CA/16
3. Sponsors: Don't Be Stupid Apparel, Sector 9, Zola Acai, Freestyle Watches
4. Skateboarding accomplishments: Winning the "Spirit of Tim Award" two years in a row at the Tim Brauch Memorial contest in 2008 and 2009 Getting sponsors, beating half the guys at my first contest. It was a Vegas Am Jam contest at SkateCity Skatepark in Las Vegas and in my division I was the only girl and I beat half the guys getting invited to skate the Supergirl Pro/Am Jam at Woodward West (my first time at Woodward) meeting new friends checking out many different skateparks. I don't really do contests...just like 2 every year. I don't look at contests as a competition competing against each other. I look at it as just a huge gathering of skaters at one place just skating with each other, having a great time and most of all having FUN!!!!!! When I do contests I just do it for FUN. I don't care what I place, all that matters to me is that I'm having FUN, doing what I want and really just having a great time and enjoying every single second of it. Just being able to go to a contest and skate it is AWESOME enough!

5. How long have you been skating? Well, I never got into skating like learning tricks, going to skateparks and competing until the Summer of 2007. So I've been skating for a little over 2 years now.
6. How did you get into skating? I think it was when I was in the 3rd grade, I saw this guy riding his skateboard around school and it looked fun to me! So when my mom took me to Toys R Us I went and got a skateboard. That's when I first stepped on a skateboard. But yeah, like I said I never really got into skating until the Summer of 2007.
7. Where's your favorite place to skate? LAKE CUNNINGHAM, Scotts Valley, any street spots around my house, and whenever I visit Vegas I like skating Anthem Skatepark.
8. Anyone you look up to in the skateboard world? Ryan Sheckler, Steve Caballero, Christian Hosoi, Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins, Chaz Oritz, Rachel Reinhard. They are all just so amazing....they all make me want to get better and keep on skating.

9. Describe your perfect skate day. I think everyday is a perfect day to skate no matter what. You just have to deal with it because it is what it is there's nothing you can do about it,haha.....but if I really had to imagine a perfect skate day it would be not too hot or too cold at Lake Cunningham Skatepark, skating with all my friends there, getting some new pics, getting footage and just having FUN!!!!!
10. What kind of reactions or responses do/have you received from people
when you tell them that you skate? They think it's sick that I skate and they wish they can skate as good as me.
11. Any advice for fellow female skaters or girls wanting to get into
skating? Age doesn't matter....and even though some guys will put you down and may say that you can't do it, who cares! Just go for it and do what you can and show them. Don't be ashamed or shy, skateboarding is all about having FUN and doing it because you love it!!!!
12. Anything else that you would like to add? I would like to thank all my sponsors for their support, they're the best! and I would also like to thank my family and friends for their support in me as well =) Remember to SKATE FOR FUN and for the LOVE of it!!!! and don't worry about anything else oh and ALWAYS WEAR YOUR HELMETS!!!!! They've saved my life twice already!getting concussions suck, and you don't ever want to get one!!!!!
